Knitting Projects

This is an Elsebeth Lavold pattern on which I had to manufacture my own sleeve caps. I didn’t know how to do that so I had to learn. This sweater has sleeves that have been frogged (pulled out and re-knit) many times…..

My second lace shawl. It was fun to try Estonian lace. Fun in a glass of wine way. Nupps are pretty cool though.

Tubey – a Knitty pattern – is an amazing sweater as it flatters many shapes. The drawback was that I knit it in acrylic so it hangs like a limp dishtowel. I still love it to pieces. Plus, as far as knitting memory goes….this sweater was knit in part while watching Troy and reminds me of Brad Pitt……

A winter issue of Vogue had this sweater pattern….not a fan of the ruffles but have worn it many times anyways.

Probably the nicest sweater I have made my husband to date. It will be hard to top this next time.

From a Vintage “Regent Mills” pamphlet my mother let me “borrow”.

My second Norah Gaughan sweater.

A two-fold first for me; the first time I actually paid attention to a designer’s name (Norah Gaughan) and the first sweater done in less that a month (think I made most of this over one weekend).

My first non-acrylic yarn, my first shawl, my first lace pattern, my first chart that I had to mark to remember my place in. And the pattern I wish I had known the ssk technique for. I am a fast learner though – made a second swallowtail shawl in black for MIL and got it right this time.
